I'd recommend an E350CDi, it's spacious, reasonably fast, comfortable, and the boot is huge. especially with the seats folded down.

Nobody's going give you a mortgage if you haven't got a 'real' job.

Reasonably fast, especially with the seats folded down? Is this due to lower centre of gravity, or because its more streamlined?

I remember many years ago someone on the 306 forums used to put his rear seats down when going for a B road blast, claimed he could feel the difference...

"Faster with the seats down" is a common misconception and something which, I believe, started in the early days of BTCC. What lowering the seats actually does is have a significant impact on handling as it lowers the Centre of Gravity of the car to a point just below the road surface, thereby allowing faster cornering.

*the more seats you lower, the lower the CoG
