SMART pension schemes
Discussion
Hi all
I am about to be auto enrolled into my company pension scheme, as I'm sure many people are around the country. This is fine, it's something I have put off for too long anyway. I am 26 years old.
We have been offered the chance to join the "SMART" scheme at the same time.
On the face of it, it seems a good proposition.. However I thought I would ask if there is anything I should be aware of or anything to watch out for? I have had a read around and can't see anything of concern
I know that it operates on a salary sacrifice basis, so for the purpose of the scheme my gross salary will be reduced, and the difference will become a pension contribution, with my employer also contributing the equivalent (or more)
Any guidance welcomed and appreciated. Thanks

No brainier for most people usually, but there are exceptions, eg see https://www.pensionsadvisoryservice.org.uk/saving-...
