Paying public with funds from CC?

My mate just called me with a question and I can't think of a good way at the moment, so on to you lot. How would you pay for a van using funds from a CC to a member of the public?

Yes, trying to avoid the charges for withdrawing cash.

May well incur fees.

Phone card company, see if they allow a super balance transfer to a bank account. There's usually a big fee on them though

Take out a new card with low or no charges for a balance transfer and then balance transfer to your current account.

Did this many times in the old days when all the card companies were offering free, zero interest, balance transfers.

Some online CC accounts allow you to transfer money to your bank account. For a fee! I know Tesco defo let's you do this.

Pay all his bills etc on the credit card for a few months, use the cash on his debit card to pay for the van.

ETA - was it just me who thought this was a conspiracy about a County Council giving people money from it's budget??

I linked my CC to PayPal to make a payment for a private sale. Worked a treat.

Yes, I added the 4% onto the transfer to cover his fees, as he wanted a cash sale.
