Couldnt decide whether to put this in scale models or finance, so mods feel free to move, I just guessed as the primary goal was investment that this was the place for it.

Me and a friend were talking about things you can buy and sit on for a while that will be worth a few quid in 5-10 years.

Obviously we argued for a bit about which cars would be future classics, and then the subject of Lego came up.

Looking on various sites it seems some of the ltd edition star wars stuff is worth a punt.

It seems a fun way of investing in a different dsort of bricks, and we were both considering a joint pool to buy this and other things with.

What lego would you buy? What sucess have you had? What other things could be fun investments?

Not the first time I have heard about this smile

Think it was on here (you might want to do a search) who ever was doing was making a lot of cash biggrin

I think he was turning stuff around within a few years so it wasn't even a long term thing.

Trouble I'd have in doing this is that I'd end up opening and building all of my investments.

Its because of this terrible behaviour that Cafe Corner is not part of my Lego high street yet!!

With Lego it's more traditional to stand on it.

I used to know a guy that used to do this with star wars toys. He'd buy end of run or one off, limited edition stuff, stick it in his garage for a couple of years then drip feed it on to ebay. It was more a hobby for him - it provided his beer money (well vodka as was his whim).

I think you could do this with most iconic toys, but they would need to be immaculate and have to be decades old not years.
