I'm a non-resident, and have done SA the last few years - it's got to the point now where the tax I receive back is less than my costs of processing the SA.

Can I tell HMRC that I don't want to do it anymore?

I only have a few savings accounts in the UK, no real assets anymore.

Assume you're referring to Self-Assessment?

Just call them and explain. I did, and they said 'fair enough' and de-registered me same day.

Assume your savings account all pay any tax on interest automatically (or are tax-exempt like ISAs)?

Simple answer is - yes you can.

Hopefully, they'll follow through and NOT issue you with a notice to complete a return. However, be careful because they don't always do what they say.
