if sale goes through we will have £150k floating around until we sell another one and eventually move - realistically 6 months away. morgage is paid off so what to do with the £150k? just stick in normal bank account? any other safe options?

you can buy a bond with 1 day left to run if you want.

But yes you can buy a bond from issue at par with 6 months

Financial Mail - Midas

Energetix, a small company quoted on the Alternative Investment Market, intends to offer a new boiler for free plus cheap gas and electricity.

Every year, 1.5 million new boilers are installed in Britain, each costing an average of about £2,000. Most of these are emergency purchases and are a burden on cash-strapped homeowners.

Energetix will offer customers free boilers provided they sign up for five years' dual-fuel supply of gas and electricity, which are guaranteed to be cheaper than supplies from the top six main providers - British Gas, EDF, Eon, Npower, ScottishPower and SSE.

MIDAS: Will a free boiler and power make these shares hot?
INVESTMENT EXTRA: Time to bail out of bond funds

The deal is made possible because Energetix has designed a boiler that generates electricity whenever it is used for central heating or hot water. For the average home, this means about half its annual electricity will be generated, effectively for free.

Energetix will use that saving to help pay for the cost of the boiler over five years.

The idea has won support at the highest level. The company is chaired by Clare Spottiswoode, one of the best-respected people in the energy industry and former head of the old gas regulator, Ofgas.

The company's boilers operate what is known as a microCHP model, where the initials stand for "combined heat and power". Such boilers have existed for several years, but most other models are expensive to make, costing anything between £8,000 and £24,000. Some are still experiencing technical difficulties as well and many are large, unwieldy and very loud.

Energetix is different. Its boilers look and sound exactly the same as standard versions and can be installed in the same way, but they include a device that converts some of the boiler's heat into electricity. The system is particularly clever because people use their boilers most in the early morning, early evening and when it is cold - precisely the times when electricity is most expensive.

Energetix shares are 23p. Brokers believe they are worth at least double that figure. The company has an exceptionally strong management team and massive potential for growth but it is not yet profitable, so investors have steered clear. Buy.

Dont real think this a fly by night type of company !!
1.Why would Peter Richardson, chief operating officer of vacuum cleaner maker Dyson (billion pound turn over company) Join as CEO . I'm pretty sure he would of be on ££££ as COO.
2.the major share holder of this company is insurance company Aviva
3.the feed back is a bonus but i think the selling point will be the free boiler that people will receive instead of shell out £1.5- £2.
4. maybe you should look at their website before making silly comments winkhttp://energetixgroup.com/

Exactly my thoughts bigee. It seem a really good Ideal to me... When I speak with friends the two main moans are mortgage payments and energy prices.

Hopefully Tonker has all his savings in a Cyprus bank
