Yes, I thankfully left the UK in 1999, giving two fingers to Blair and Brown.

This morning, yet another demand for Class 2 NICs turned up here in NZ, correctly addressed - so the address has come from the NZ tax authorities. (I've never given it to HMRC).

What planet are these people on? Isn't it fairly obvious I'm not self employed in the UK?
I will be entitled to a full state pension in NZ in ten years time, so I have no interest in paying any NIC contributions of any sort.

Torn up and in the bin. I won't hold my breath about the threat of legal action.

Now you know where some of your tax money is wasted - idiots.

Maybe if you had written them a letter they won't waste any more of our tax money.

Actually they are trying to do you a favour, by making sure you are able to maintain sufficient NI contributions to qualify for a UK basic state pension if you choose to do so.

Like Eric says, if that's not of interest, then just write to them and tell them no thanks.
