Morning all,

I haven't had a credit card for years but I've decided to apply for one as it makes it easy to pay for things on line and provide insurance against fraud.

I have a good credit rating and no balance to transfer onto the new card. I have never paid a penny interest on previous credit cards and this one will be the same; whatever the balance is at the end of the month will be paid off in full. The interest rate is therefore irrelevant.

Key things I'm interested in.

1. Rewards
2. Cashback
3. Credit limit of around £1500
4. fraud protection.
5. decent on line / telephone support.
6. commission free currency exchanges.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I agree that AMEX is best. However, lots of retailers don't accept it because AMEX charges the retailer more than other credit card companies. If you have an AMEX, you also need to have a Mastercard of VISA card. I found Capital One to be one of the best for rewards on them.
