Hi,

I'm currently non-UK resident / non-domicile as I'm living and working in Japan. I'm looking to start investing in shares and funds but it seems that, as a non-UK resident, I can't open a Selftrade or Hargreaves Landsdown account.

I've tried HSBC Offshore and The Fry Group but I like the idea of picking my own funds and stocks. Also, after paying their fees, I wouldn't expect a great return.

So, I'm now looking at opening an account with Internaxx in Luxembourg. Has anyone on here used them? Are there any other alternatives I should consider?

Thanks in advance.

Take a look at Interactive Brokers out of HK.

Minor technical point - if you are uk born with uk passport, you are most unlikely to be non-dom, it's very hard to shake off.
