Yeah still up on ZIM but profit halved today
I maybe jsut hit break even point at yesterdays high... Was always planning on keeping it much longer but it still feels like a kick to the groin.Legend83 said:
From what I can gather, a Citi analyst basically posted a research note reducing ZIM from hold to sell on the basis they "don't think the shipping rate recovery will continue".
Feels like a very knee-jerk market reaction.
I agree, the rates dont even have to increase, Just staying broadly the same will be great profits for all the shippers. Feels like a very knee-jerk market reaction.

Not as volatile as many on this thread...but as risky as I'm happy to go!
Currently buying PRU, RKT and DGE, all the others sold after recent gains but will buy back in when if/when they drop back.

Some of you were obviously adding more as it dropped! I'm afraid I didn't have the spuds for that!
The top can fall out of this very quickly, but I'm not regretting my small top up of 29k shares at 1.467p just under a month ago - +160%. From memory 1/2 of this buy was funded by an II.com referral - i.e. zero cost. ETA: potential doom & gloom to the start of next week - https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/us-jobs-shock-le...

Anyone keeping abreast of Keith Gill/roaring kitty/DFV on Reddit? He’s managed to turn his $53k investment in GME to a peak of $586 million as of the high on Thursday. Down heavily on Friday but he did a live stream and isn’t planning on selling. Quite the story.

I've been keeping track of it. Can't say I understand how he went from about $40M in 2021 to showing up 3 years later with over $200M!Edited by RiseUp on Saturday 8th June 01:10
If Gamestop went up $5 higher than it hit today he'd have been a paper billionaire. He claims it's all his money and he's not taken any money from other people / funds etc. He owns 5% of the stock, one of the largest shareholders behind Ryan Cohen, black rock, vanguard and state Street.
$50k to $200M+ is probably one of the greatest trades. I can't help but feel like he uses Reddit as a pump and dump. Although he hasn't sold. Maybe he's cashing in the options, I don't see how else it's possible.
I had been a spectator and always thought it was a bit silly and stayed out. Today I caved and chucked a little at it before the livestream. It wasn't a great idea but anything can happen next week. I can't say I'll be a diamond handed person if my money doubles.

Yeah it’s not been explained the large increase since 2021 and the last week, even allowing for the stock split. I can only assume he’s been very active with it over that period. I hope he does pass a billion, it would cause an absolute meltdown amongst institutional investors.
Clever use of options I would think. Long calls financed by short puts could lever your cash up massivelyGassing Station | Finance | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
