Each bond has a separate and equal chance of winning it doesn’t matter if they’re in a “block” or not

The odds of rolling 1,2 or 3 on a die is 50:50 just like rolling 2,4 or 6.

“Random” doesn’t mean “evenly distributed”…
Which is what I said yesterday; but, that's not always been the case.
I recall reading about it quite recently and I'm sure it said it isn't really random, but someone checks the results and certifies that "look" random.

My wife steadily wins 2x what I do, and we bought our blocks at the same time.

Our daughters have £20K each that their grandfather left them - one wins something most months the other rarely wins.

I suppose you could say that's random.
Yes, that's exactly what randomness looks like. People famously identify patterns in randomness all the time.
Near enough consistent with 2x for wife again - £225 for wife, £125 for me.

£50,000 held

Jan £50
Feb £100
Mar £10350
Apr £125
May £150
Jun £100

So pretty happy with this year so far smile

The £10,000 was a proper result, near 20% for this year with 6 to go.

Just a single £100 on £50k this month.

Bit disappointing after a total of £1000 across April and May, but still equivalent to a pre tax rate of 4% so not terrible really.

This time next month, Rodney...

My mother is doing that with her holdings. I've also spoken to a colleague who has the full amount invested and he's thinking of doing the same.

Anyway for me this month on maximum holdings:

£200, bringing my total this year so far to £975 or 1.95%.

Rolling 12 month total is £1750 or 3.5%. Not great if I'm being honest.

Maybe my bonds could do with a rejig.

Do NOT do this. As has been covered many times, it makes no difference whatsoever. All you’ll accomplish is removing yourself from the draw for a month.

As for me, £75 on £50k. £975 so far since January. Meh.

Does everyone on PH have the maximum £50k ? Because judging by the recent posts, it does seem to be the case.

Unless, only people with £50k post on PH ?

It makes my £2500 look very piddly.

I understand that, however when you see people purchasing a bond a month or so back and they win a large prize it is annoying.

A lot less than £50k, less than half that. Have been lucky though £1075 since January.
