Several others at just over 2.5% still. With base going toward 3% in November there will be many others.
yeah can see me changing often until things settle
Yep, so get the interest paid monthly wherever possible.

I'm not sure it makes a difference - if you move it after a few months the provider will add any accrued interest up to the point you transfer (less any penalties).

What can sometimes make a difference is deciding what tax year you want the interest payment(s) to fall into.

Still waiting to get access to my E-saver on line as I had to send off some ID.

However, I know the E-saver this thread is about is 'full' but there seems to be another one showing on their website (not to be confused with the one you pay up to £250 a month into) but the rate is now only 2%. Have they just dropped the rate down on our one, since it is variable?

https://www.santander.co.uk/personal/savings-and-i...

If so I might as well leave mine where it is with Virgin at 2% up to £25k for now: I'll end up with loads of accounts having a nominal £10 or whatever in at this rate. smile

Just did mine online. Guess you don't have an existing santander account.

For any new customers yes... anyone who signed up and got the 2.72 should keep it.

My mortgage is with them, I did sign online and they confirmed the account was open the same day.

I'm an existing customer (via my Dad's LPOA and also a recently closed ISA) but somehow my middle name got mis-spelt on the application so I had to send a 'change of details' form in and reference the email they sent telling me that 'some details don't match'. Hopefully once it comes back I'll have access and get the 2.75% rate I signed up for. I guess they've opened another one with lower rates hence the 2% rate I can now see on their site.

As I can't see the original offer/rate; can someone confirm what the limits are for it? I seem to think £250k (which is far over what I'd need, but some similar accounts are limited to £5k or perhaps £25k).

I believe it was £250k from what I remember.

I think it's because I haven't registered for online banking with them before, so i can't register without the two stage letters

Managed to open up one of these but can’t access without sending 2 forms of ID and a change of details form as I had an account with them years ago.

No access to a printer right now it’s a bit of a faff to sort this one!

Two year mortgage rates at 6.5%.- implies that could soon be dwarfed

but maybe not within 6 months ?

You can get a two year fixed savings rate of 4.8% right now (and maybe more)

There's also a cost to waiting - if you sit on your hands for a month waiting for a better rate, then it needs to be much better or you lose out overall.....
