Savings interest rate thread

I thought I was good to go, so logged on to find that I have no account...read further down the email (after all the bit about welcome and how to put money in) then saw that some detail didn't match what they had down on my records, so I've had to fill in a 'change of detail' form. I think it was fat fingers on my part as they have a letter missing from my middle name. ![rolleyes](/inc/images/rolleyes.gif)
At least I've got an account, it just might take a week or so to get access, but not too bothered: I mainly want to use it just to transfer some money from my late Dad's estate across while I work out what's best to do with it longer term.

One thing though, there's not reference to the 'limited edition' in the email confirmations, only esaver, though I definitely applied via the limited edition link on their site.
It didn't say it in mine either and the account is just called 'esaver' when I log in, but the product name shows as: 'ESAVER LIMITED EDITION (ISSUE 1) MONTHLY'.andygo said:
Is anyone getting a "technical error' message when attempting to submit a Santander application? Phone lines are busy as well.
My wife managed to get through on the phone. Apparently the website is broken. he lady on the phone set up an account over the phone which should enable my wife to open the savings account now.OMITN said:
Assuming I can’t get the Santander account for whatever reason, are these people any good? If I’m honest I’ve never heard of Cynergy Bank.
I assume they’re FSCS registered (I’ll be putting in close to the limit)?
Pretty basic online bank and clunky login with no dedicated app. Still FSCS covered. If you can put up with the former then no issue and should be instant account opening. I assume they’re FSCS registered (I’ll be putting in close to the limit)?

Seen this earlier on for anyone wanting fixed savings 6months to 5yrs.
https://www.atombank.co.uk/fixed-saver/
Rates seem very good. 3.2% for 6 months, 4.25% for 1yr.
Thanks for that. Set one up this morning in 10 mins. I'm going to do their flexible saver as well as I can link it to my current account for easy management.https://www.atombank.co.uk/fixed-saver/

My advice would be to keep all of these accounts open for now and simply move the money around as the rates change as it's going to for a while yet I suspect!
I connect each of mine with my main / trusted current account for transfers and using the mobile apps usually gives you a higher daily limit (e.g. Virgin is 30K)
The above worked well with the E-Saver as I had the account open and funded from 2 other accounts (Virgin and AtomBank) within 10 minutes of hearing about it!!

Indeed. I always leave £100 in each account to keep it “active”, then you can shuttle money between the rest in a matter of minutes.I connect each of mine with my main / trusted current account for transfers and using the mobile apps usually gives you a higher daily limit (e.g. Virgin is 30K)

I’ve just opened one too, thanks for the tip. Also I’ve just noticed my Barclays banking are offering 5.12% on balances up to 5k on their rainy day saver. So I’ve just maxed that out. Big improvement on the 0.15% I was getting.
Thanks for the heads up, just done the same.Is that on a Premier account?
Edit - don't worry, found it in my Online Banking. SIgned up to Blue Rewards and opened the Rainy Day account.
Looks like the £5 monthly cost for Blue Rewards is cancelled out by the £5 for two DDs from current account?
