My uncle lives there, he says it was a gas bottle accident and the UK news is full of BS.

rolleyes

A totally crass and uncalled for comment. Your mother should be proud.

It's a beautiful city full of decent folk. I was there only a matter of a few weeks ago. The cafes in that area cater for and are full of tourists.

I hope for the sake of the people who earn a living from tourism in that town, that it was merely a gas explosion.

You are welcome to your opinion. I personally found it to be a dirty, smelly, thoroughly disagreeable place full of people eager to extract my cash by hook or by crook.

So, you're pleased that there's been an explosion?

Of course not. Just a bit of black humour. I sincerely hope nobody was hurt. Apologies for any offence caused.

Thank heavens for that! Typical of the media to whip up a frenzy, eh?

My experience was more in line with Blib's.

In terms of people being eager to extract your cash, name a capital/large city in the world that doesn't do this to tourists. Same thing goes for dirty/smelly places...though there's nothing wrong with the smell of kebabs and herbs in my opinion smile

Hmmm...

"Analysis of the early evidence collected at the site of the blast that occurred on Thursday at a cafe in Marrakech confirms the theory of an attack," the Interior Ministry said in a statement carried by the official MAP news agency.

Did I mention that he is the minister for tourism?

Three people have been arrested in connection with the bombing of a busy tourist cafe in Marrakech, Morrocan officials said.

The three suspects in the bombing of the Argana cafe in the popular Jamaa el-Fnaa square last week were all Moroccans, the country's official news agency reported. Police said the main suspect in the blast, the country's deadliest for eight years, was "loyal" to al-Qaida.
