Wondered if anyone else was watching. Iran is the big one... things are officially scary now surely?

They've revolted many times, and have been brutalised by the govt. If you think no revolt has happened in Saudi then you are hugely mistaken. People have tried to revolt but have been put down with brutality.

I don't, I worked RSAAF Warrant Officer who was one of those responsible for 'punishing' some officers and their families for their part in an attempted revolt in the 70s

Army-DinnerJacket can make MadDog seem like a pussycat if the st hit the fan.

Studying with an Iranian chappie, his stories of growing up in Tehran are truly terrifying.

In Egypt, the military guarded the protesters and made everyone play relatively nice. In Iran, the protesters get shot by the Police, the Army, the Revolutionary Guard and the Militias. But it's becoming more and more unstable. And the uprisings around the Middle East, especially in Egypt, are going to tip the sphere of influence away from Iran.

Egypt holds massive cultural power throughout the Arab world. And if they start to make negative noises about the regime in Iran, we could be in for a further round of uprisings towards the end of the year.
