I'm just checking people's recollection of recent history and hoping to settle a disagreement with my wife.

No, she knows Grenada was invaded pretty much singlehandedly by Clint Eastwood. wink

Well the terrorists were Saudis so I think the answer must be Saudi Arabia. wink

Don't be silly. The Saudis are our friends and allies in this war on terror. Without them, where would we be?

Now she's getting confused with Granada.

For her next birthday, but her an atlas.

Genuine question. Have the attacks on the USA prior to Sept 11 been forgotten by most?

Yes. Not by me, but by most people.

But, to be fair, The Great Unwashed don't have much of a memory for this stuff anyway. It's a little unfair to test them on it when there are so many stars dancing on ice and must-see soap opera stories.

Not as forgotten as the attacks made by USA-financed terrorists on the UK.

yeah it's funny how the funds from Boston reduced massivley once the east coast had a taste of what terrorism was all about. 'Bullets for the boys?'

Although I did have a collection tin stuck under my nose in a pub in Luton once.

Only by those who argue that it's all our fault anyway.

Fair point, it's not as though recent history matters and all.

Seriously though, talk to most people about what went on prior to the 'spectacular' and they genuinely haven't got a bloody clue. Sad really.

Jim do you think the Bush administration were correct in trying to link Saddam Hussein to Al-Queda in order to make a case for the Iraq invasion? Cheney suggested "long-established ties" between Iraq and al Qaeda however the 9/11 commission stated that there was "no credible evidence" that Saddam Hussein's government in Iraq collaborated with the al Qaeda terrorist network on any attacks on the United States.
