Arms exports to Libya banned....except for..
Discussion
Quote of the day must come from the daily wail....
'The Government also said it would no longer approve export licences for 'military or paramilitary equipment to Libya', except if it is for (UN) peacekeeping or humanitarian purposes.'
Is that a bit like the scene in 'Lord of War' when the attack helicopter is shipped separately from it's rocket launchers but coincidentaly on the same ship, to the same destination?
Nothing changes then?

It's all just good PR. Rest assured it will all start again when the duck gets replaced. Death is a profitable business and a leadership coup is little more than a public inconvenience to this trade. I suspect the same hand wringing from DC will be balanced by an internal memo to someone in defence just to make sure we are first in the queue to meet the new Libya defence minister post duckshoot.... After all, we did support Libya during their recent struggles against oppression.

Looks like 'the trade' can breath a sigh of relief this morning. UK and USA are contemplating arming 'the rebels'. I guess that comes under the heading of peacekeeping/humanitarian reasons, doesn't it.
Plus ca change, mais plus la meme chose and all that!
anybody got any AK47s' going cheap?

Because that's gone SO well in the past.Pretty much tells us all we need to know about Govts.....
Paymasters that do what the CIA did in the past?
What really made me despair on the way in to work was listening to the possibility that Mr G. may have up to 14 tonnes of unaccounted for chemicals that are precursors to the manufacture of mustard gas. Can you see which way this is going?
Dear Mr HM Government,
Please don't do this again. We are not f
king idiots.
Yours in despair,
