Can't help but think there's some socio-political pressure being exerted by the US authorities

Except Egypt was pro-US and relatively stable - why would the US work to destabilise that for an unknown outcome?

Who's to say it's an unknown outcome? The UN has tampered with elections in the past, I'm sure the US or whoever wouldn't mind adding a few votes to the ballot!

As said on the Libya thread, some oil rig workers and others in the know, have known this was going to kick off and got out last year. Ironically, Cameron is in Kuwait this very morning and I listened gobsmacked as he suddenly started mentioning Iran, Iran, Iran, and the telling line

'we will not stand idly by with the nuclear threat of Iran' or words very close.

Time for another war?

US behind it? We'll find out soon enough.

As we know, USA would never interfere in the affairs of another sovereign state...

I thought the US was keen to "pull-out" of Israel anyway?

I'm aware of the Jewish pressure on Capitol Hill, but speaking to my dad (Jewish) he seemed to think that the US were easing their support of Israel. Don't know his rationale.

Cameron should seriously STFU and concentrate on fixing things back home...

Somewhere he IS needed!

Why? Goverments have foreign policies. What happens overseas affects this country.

Should more friendly and democratic governments pop up in the Middle East as a result of this wave of social upheaval, there wouldn't be the same need to support Israel, as their traditional enemies would no longer exist.

ahem....Middle East Civil Unrest - US behind it?.....North African Civil Unrest - US behind it?

And no there isn't, apart from the usual pressure they and everyone else has put on them for the last few years.

Now there's a name I haven't heard for a while. Mantell, not Nessie.

Wasn't that being filmed by Genette Tate flying a TBF Avenger chase plane?
