Auto Windscreens has been sold by Arques Industries to invetsment company, Moguntia.

The sale of the company is the second change of hands in just over a year.

Following the acquisition, Auto Windscreens was established as an independent brand, strict cost management was introduced and a new senior management team was appointed earlier this year.

In April it won the Lombard Vehicle Leasing contract to become its automotive glazing service provider.

Says it all really.

I guess it was one of those deals where, somewhere along the line, all the cash assets had been sweated-out and the 'future' was gambled on the one 'big deal'. That big deal, most likely being a turnover, rather than profit exercise.

Still, at least my mate bought one of their service centres last year to open his new Specialized Concept (bike) store... It's an ill wind.

Auto-windscreens replaced my windscreen late last year.

The first time they turned up they brought totally the wrong windscreen.

They cancelled the second visit on the day as the guy phoned in sick.

I'd made it very clear to them that I was not happy with the service so far and could they please make sure the guy turned up with a van with a canopy as it was likely to snow.

The 3rd time they turned up it was snowing heavily and the guy said he couldn't do it as he was in a small van without a canopy!

I am shocked they have gone bust.

Noooo, I've been waiting for this lot to replace my chipped windscreen for three and a half weeks now. If their service is anything to go by then I'm not surprise they've gone bust.

Never had such bad service from any other company. Simple replacement screen ended up with a roof respray and 2 months of grief.

Wouldn't be missed for sure.

Would be great, wouldn't it?

Would be even better if the scumbag insurers would let you use him.

I suppose that when the cracks started to show it was only a matter of time till someone put the heater on.

Hmmm - I wonder if this is the reason my insurance company arranged folks didn't turn up today. The reason I was given on voicemail was "we were let down by a supplier"

Anyone know if Highway use Auto Windscreens for their windscreen work?
