But this kind of thing just makes me think... Ahh they are about to do something we won't like so look around the eyes, not into the eyes, around the eyes!

Don't worry we have the government looking after us and acting in our best interests so we'll be fine.

Control through fear at all costs. I wish we all could get together and tell them to shut up and stop treating us like scared little brats. Unfortunately there is quite a fair bit of the populous actually taken this mince in.

That'll be why they kept repeating the "keep your belongings with you" speech on the train this morning.

"Bernard Jenkin, the Conservative chairman of the committee, said: "The whole process was rushed and poorly handled and should have been thought through a lot more. This was a fantastic opportunity to help build the big society and save money at the same time, but it has been botched."

One day they'll psychologically have us all arrive at the Hotel California Portmeirion.

Orwellian fear for real this time though.

The road is this way... (ahh, forgot. We are already well on route!)

The Government weren't trying to control the populace back then. At least, not like they are trying to do now.

Nowadays, all they need to do to justify taking away your freedoms is say that a 'terrorist' will blow us up.

Of course there's one slight problem with this story - it's bks.
There is a large repositioning of personnel going on, but that has been scheduled since the start of last year. I sit in on rail network security briefings every week and this weeks brief was the same as last weeks.
I'm assuming this is the meeja adding 2 + 2 and getting 5... again.

Aha whistle

The old EU *Dioxin shuffle

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12133402

"In a statement, the FSA said: "There is no food safety risk from eating these products. The majority of products will have been sold and most have passed their 'use by' or 'best before' dates. " Err??

"The alert began when it was discovered thousands of tonnes of animal feed contaminated by highly toxic dioxins had been sent to more than 1,000 poultry and pig farms in Germany.
The dioxin was discovered in late December but the extent of the problem was only revealed earlier this week when German officials said 3,000 tonnes of feed had been affected.
Eggs from those farms were sent to the Netherlands for processing and then on to the UK.
The problem has been traced to oils intended for bio-fuel becoming mixed with oil destined for animal feed."

  • "The term dioxin is used in chemistry to describe a heterocyclic 6-membered ring where 2 carbon atoms have been substituted by oxygen atoms. While this moiety can appear in a wide range of compounds, the most important and widely known group are the polychlorinated dibenzodioxins, a group of highly toxic environmental toxins commonly referred to as simply "dioxins".

"Your government is in control, you're free to do as we tell you. Here's 500 channels of 'I'm ice factor dancing in a celebrity forest with talent get me out of here' shut up and keep watching this st and go back to sleep" is what they really mean.

I hoped this crap would stop once the socialist criminals were voted out but no, the bogey man hasn't been deported just yet. STOP INSULTING MY INTELLIGENCE.

Well, famous last words & all that - 20 minutes after posting I was informed the security level IS going up!
I can't help wondering if it's as a result of the media reports though, rather than a cause of them.

If a threat is "non-specific", how can it be anything close to being "significant"? confused
It's probably a way of covering themselves when nothing happens, e.g. "something may happen but we haven't got a Scooby where". Pretty much business as usual.
