4chan goes down, and it gets in the news:

I can't remember when they first made mention of the place, but it crops up rather a lot these days. Is this the BBC trying to be cool and relevant?

4chan is full of dheads, but as they're often behind all kinds of internet drama, their being taken down is certainly newsworthy.

People who use that site are behind quite a lot of similar attacks, someone hitting back is actually quite rare.

Friends of friends?

BBC kept doing features (ie adverts in all but name) on spotify 6 or 12 months back. Ive yet to meet anyone who has heard, let alone used spotify, so it certainly isnt because its relevant.

I use spotify quite a lot. It's like a music on demand system. If you don't pay for it then you get an advert every 20 minutes or so, but you can play anything from the pretty huge catalogue (including some obscure classical stuff that I tend to listen to) whenever you like and in whatever order you like. At the time it was released there wasn't really anything like it about, so I can understand why it got some attention.

i'm not a user but i can definately see alot of merits of spotify. its a great little program.

as for 4chan - they're alot more influential than people are prepared to give them credit for. there will be repercussions from 4chan users for this.
