Why does none of this stuff that happens in mexico ever get reported here.

MEXICO CITY — The entire police force of a small northern Mexican town quit after gunmen attacked their recently inaugurated headquarters, according to local reports on Wednesday.
Los Ramones Mayor Santos Salinas said nobody was injured in Monday night's attack, during which gunmen fired more than 1,000 bullets at the building's facade, according to Noroeste newspaper's website. Six grenades, of which three detonated, were also flung at the building, the newspaper reported.
"Fortunately, those who were inside the building threw themselves on the ground and nobody was hurt," Salinas told the newspaper.
All 14 members of the force reportedly resigned Tuesday. Nobody answered the phones at Salinas' offices, according to The Associated Press.
The new police headquarters had been inaugurated three days earlier.
Los Ramones is in Nuevo Leon, a state torn by fighting between the Gulf and Zetas drug gangs. Police stations in small northeastern Mexican towns are frequently attacked, and several mayors have been assassinated.
Mexico's ill-equipped municipal forces often quit after cartel attacks. President Felipe Calderon has proposed eliminating Mexico's municipal forces and replacing them with one force per state.
According to Salinas, at 9:30 p.m. on Monday unknown assailants arrived at the police station and launched a 20-minute attack, Noroeste reported. Police backup arrived shortly after.

While the mayor had not received threats leading up to the attack, police earlier noticed suspicious men driving luxury pickups in the area, the newspaper reported. Fearing a strike, policemen lined up their patrol cars in front of the building in order to create a barricade, the newspaper added.
It was the second attack in less than a week against police installations in the state of Nuevo Leon. On Oct. 19, two grenades were thrown at a police shelter in the town of Sabinas Hidalgo, Noroeste reported.

I have a freind who works in the States for the homeland security (he was a DEA before it was all merged). He tells tales of the ruthlessness of the drugs gangs and the inability of the good guys to tackle this problem as they have to play by the rules. These rules do not exsist for the bad guys who have money beyond imagination, they siezed a lear jet one day off a suspect and he had replaced it later that day, for example. The violence they are prepared to use is beyond normal, grenades etc.

I don't know how they will stop this without us abandoning some of the principles we are shackled under.

And as for ours not being that bad, yes they are not yet, but as deaths related to gangs soar we have the same but different.

They're not too graphic - in many shots the genitals have been removed and you cannot see the faces.

Oh hang on a sec, they did not use photoshop, genital and head removal was done before the picture was taken... the victims were not very popular bunnies were they.

Bleur!

They already have sent in the (Mexican) army. Money can buy army commanders, too.

The southwest US border is becoming more and more violent. That is the reason why US citizens want the border better patrolled/controlled. It's a sieve right now and the current administration lacks the cajones (did you see what I did there?) to do anything about it.

This is what prohibition brings.
How did the mafia get it huge power, money and influence? Alcohol prohibition.

Even if we end the war on drugs now they have so much money and power we'll be feeling the effects for over 50 years!

I have mates living in San Diego, and when I was over there last year, they said it was risky to go over the border, but would avoid Tijuana, and go a few hours into Mexico where they didn't have much trouble.

12 months later, none of them will go over the border, as it is so much worse.
