I think those prices are fine really.
"Deighton said the pay your age scheme would enable a family of four with a seven and a nine year old to go to watch the Olympics for £56.
"And that includes the cost of the travel card to get to the Olympics as well, so it is a low cost day out," he said.
That same scheme also extends to seniors, who will pay £16 for the same special sessions."

I think they're fine, the normal tickets seem to be roughly the price of a football match then it goes up and up (and up and up...) for people who see it as a 'once in a lifetime' thing. I just hope there are plenty available for those who can't afford top whack and don't have access to a cheap one (corporate, kids, OAPs, etc.).
A bit worried by the note 'Prices may differ within a session type, depending on factors such as the time of day.', I assumed it would be a day ticket for swimming, athletics, etc.

How does that work then?"And that includes the cost of the travel card to get to the Olympics as well, so it is a low cost day out," he said.
Pay your age...
£56 - £7 - £9 = £40.
£40 between 2 parents = average age of 20.
Eldest child is 9.
Average age of parents at birth of first child = 11.
Hmm. That's going to allow lots of families to enjoy a cheap day out!

The athletics will probably have morning and evening sessions with a afternoon break - that's the usual format at major champs, so a ticket will probably be morning or evening on a specific day.A bit worried by the note 'Prices may differ within a session type, depending on factors such as the time of day.', I assumed it would be a day ticket for swimming, athletics, etc.
This part is a pain
What payment methods can be used?
Ticket applications will have to be paid for by Visa debit or Visa credit card, as Visa is one of the International Olympic Committee's top sponsors, although there could be a cheque option.
Looks like I will be getting a visa card then

Only worth it if you enjoy having a security stop put on your card every month because your spending pattern is similar to spending patterns of fraudsters. Try spending £500 with an Irish company then the next day spend £100 with Amazon then £50 in a supermarket . . . Only they call it a "security check" . . .
