These pesky piers keep going up in flames don't they.
And by massive coincidence it was only yesterday that architects were invited to submit new designs as the council had agreed to fund it's restoration.

Why's it bad news, fecking things are an eye sore if you ask me, sWeston-super-Mare 2008

tty looking wooden contraptions that look like they were designed by a 6th form art class using "art" straws. Amazing isn't it. Two nice tall Victorian detached houses in my local town, neglected and empty for years. Developer submits plans to knock them down and replace with flats. Council says no.
One of the houses mysteriously self-combusts. Both sit as eyesores for another year or two, before being knocked down.
Guess what's going to happen now?

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with the fire. You think someone would have put them up to it???
Do you not?
The hotel across the valley from me kept applying for planning permission for 4 half-million pound houses to be built having knocked the hotel down (The previous owners had applied for planning permission too but it got rejected and so they just sold up and moved on). It kept getting refused planning permission by the developer who bought it too...and then it burnt down and strangely enough, there are 4 houses there now

I was at the one down Fleetwood before it burnt down, used to go cycling up that section around Fleetwood, and it was always a dive and complete and utter eyesore (like pretty much the rest of Fleetwood iirc).
