So what are our American correspondents views on this faction within the Republican party? Is Ron Paul part of it?

Yes. The confirmation of Dr. Paul’s attendance at the Virginia Tea Party is considered a major ‘coup’ and will undoubtedly draw even larger numbers to the inaugural Convention to be held October 8 and 9, 2010.

The funny thing is that the Tea act actually meant the Americans got better tea, that was cheaper... Shows how much a good dose of spin can be used to good effect.

You see, there is where you have been misled. All parties have nutjobs. The media has decided to portray the "Teaparty" as all being nutjobs. This party simply stands for following the Constitution, cutting taxes, personal accountability, minimal government involvement, etc. That seems pretty damn close to what the majority of PHers seem to desire. Where am I wrong?

Sorry - I presumed the link was about the woman who is anti masturbation, and a few similar christian nutjobs who are ruining it for normal people. She is a feckin nutjob.

I had that link open from another newspaper, so got a bit confused.

Isn't the Tea Party mainly full of idiots that think Obama was born in Kenya, 9/11 was an inside job, FOTL(don't get me started on this idiocy), the Fed' is a conspiracy, etc - and Glen Beck.

Oh yes, I forgot, universal healthcare is evil and they're going to kill grannies and force everybody to be immunised(secretly poisoning the populace)

[10 year old] mmmmm Playboy [/10 year old] Can I borrow Junes?

Seriously, everyone I've encountered that thinks the Tea Party movement is a good thing has been a screaming nutbar, the quieter one don't understand their own constitution.

Watching Mrs O'Donnell last night I was struck by how much she looked and sounded like Sarah Palin - right down the use of the "Ya betcha" expression.

It does look like a rural, folksy version of "The Stepford Wives" might end up running the country. If I was an American, I'd be very worried.

Its a thin cover over racism really, they hate having a black president.
They also listen to all the ste that fox 'news'(it is not news), espically Glenn 'tard Beck spews as gospel.

They have basically been told Obama is a Muslim and is trying to take over the country, i.e back to 'old American values' whatever the fark that is.

Basically a new hyper right wing uprising, basically pushed by Fox News and Sarah Palin have managed to blag a critical seat to represent the Republicans in the next mid term elections.

Think of all the right wing crazy you can, and they support it.

This is however good for the Democrats, and the people in the middle (floating voters) will never vote for the crazy people, where are with a normal Republican they may have been swayed.

That was just an acceptance nod, of how she got there.
