Stikes in the BBc - Sack them all............. why not?

With the BBC's special way its paid for, who would miss the BBC if it actually went away?

I enjoy some of the radio but only 1 and 2. I resent being forced to pay for the BBC when I dont like the content and distrust the slant it puts on things.

It has too many weather presenters (albeit very tasty girls) too much dribble

I'd miss the BBC. I think the quality of programming (with some turkeys of course) is much better than the others, the lack of adverts is a huge plus for me. Rather than getting rid of the BBC, I'd want to get rid of the unions.

Why should the state provide entertainment? Next you'll want the taxpayer to fund circuses.

With the advent of PVRs and the ability to skip ads - I say can the BBC.

The only reason I was ever pro-BBC was the news service, but as this is now so blatantly untrustworthy, I don't use it any more.

Keep the BBC as it is. I cannot stand advert TV/radio. F1 without adverts is heaven so that's good enough reason for me.

Only if you pay attention to the news and fail to apply any critical thought to it. Anyone who doesn't apply critical thought to all forms of our news media deserve everything they get (normally starting with boiling urine and high blood pressure).

Have a full and independent audit of the BBC. Fundamentally, it's a great organisation, but it's lost it's way over the past few years.

well why don't they have more right wing stuff then? Then you can apply leftie logic if you like?

I hate the fking bbc
confused Everyone knows the BBC have a left bias so just take that into account when you hear any of their current affairs stuff. Everyone knows the Telegraph has a right wing bias so just take that into account when you read any of their current affairs stuff.

As said above, a top to bottom audit would be useful followed by a fat-trimming exercise and a return the the BBC's core charter.

Many apologies I know it's wiki but...

countries which require a licence to use a television or radio

Thus my response to the question asked by the OP has been given earlier as follows:-

This ^^

OK times change, I really don't want to go back to watching the very stale news being droned out by some non dude in a dinner jacket, but the beeb has moved from objectively reporting to campaigning and sometimes even attempting to make the news.

Thus it needs auditing in a totally independant manner, if that is possible.

No, the BBC has gone much further. For instance My Family ten+ years ago was berating the Tories after stating that the guy and his wife voted Labour. The bias is far deeper and far more subtle than news coverage if you look closely.

For instance, how did Campbell get on Top Gear? Or when Clarkson was berated by a BBC executive for slagging off Gordon Brown in front of the TG audience (not sure I've ever seen or heard of the BBC telling people off for slagging off Lady Thatcher or any other right wing politician). Remember JC apologising to the one eyed folk?

I agree, it is all there and permeates through almost all programs, be it the public sector worker (naturally..) on 'Electric Dreams' call Thatcher a 'witch', to the quite abhorrent children's television - educating small ones about the wrongs of Christianity and the West, compared to the 'enlightenment' and 'peaceful' religion they fought against. (I was quite shocked when watching that!)

Personally, I certainly could, and would live without the BBC if given a choice - and would be more than happy to pay for non 'news and currant affairs' programs’, which seem to be no more than a platform for the left to spout their quasi communist poison.

The sad fact is that there is far more to the beeb then just BBC1, topgear and that fat idiot on the radio.

Bin the BBC and you bin the quality unpopular programming which is on at silly o'clock or obscure channels.

I'd happily see the death of the idiot fest that is Saturday night telly but please someone save the quality stuff.

The beeb needs to stop catering to morons.

A subscription service for a particular set of programmes would be OK - as long as I didn't have to subsidise their hateful 'tractor production' type news and current affairs, which are about as objective as Pravda in the 70's and 80's, then I don't mind....

I voted to ditch the tax but that was because keep the tv, keep the radio, didn't fit.

If I was PM, I'd strip it down to BBC2 and Radio 4 / world service

These are the only two elements that fit a public broadcaster remit, - ok some stuff on other channels does too, but once you've privatised the comercial channels those programs would fit into the single tv and single radio service.

quite how the BBC can justify radio one/two competing against independent popular music radio is beyond me.
