How is it aimed at illegal immigrants? It appears to me to be aimed at helping legitimate prospective immigrants through the 'difficult' legal process.

Step 1: Marry cousin
Step 2: Get benefits.

I've just saved them 50 quid.

You need to add a smiley to that post so we know for sure of it's sarcastic intent.

Not defending solicitors and their society damaging 'No X, no fee' practices, but if you took your Daily Mail glasses off for a second, your may just be able to recognise that if you want to live here there is a phenomenal amount of paperwork and process to go through. If you get it wrong its very hard to re-apply.

If i was emigrating to OZ, id contact a similar organisation to help me get the application exactly right. I wouldnt consider it to be a scam.

This is aimed at people who are already in the UK and are illegal. It is not a service you use in your home country in order to legally emigrate elsewhere.

It is aimed at illegal immigrants..

ETA: i am not really suprised that such a service exists, i guess i was just taken by suprise that they had their own TV show. Business must be good.

Why would you give these shills £30 when there are 1000s of Cherie Blair clones lining up for seemingly endless legal aid to work the system?

I havnt seen the tv ad, but could you point out how this is aimed specifically at illegal immigrants ?

The only related section on the rather sparse web site says:

"Whether you're outside the EEA (European Economic Area) wishing to come and live in the UK, or whether you're hoping to extend your existing visa in the UK, or perhaps you're here illegally and wish to regularise your status, contact Procol & Candor now to book your free first consultation."

So, 1st part is fine - nothing wrong with wanting to live in the UK.
2nd bit: extending existing visa - well better than disappearing off the radar, i suppose.
3rd part seems fine - i suspect you dont want illegal immigrants, so they get legal and pay tax. No problem.

Don't go quoting facts and being all logical! That doesn't fit with the OP'd agenda at all.

You can not extend an expired visa. You have to keep them current , or leave the country. Those are the rules smile

The Tv advert was like one of those debt companies but for illegal immigrants!

"Are you unable to work, or claim benefits?
Are you unable to get married?"
Have you overstayed?"
etc etc

We can help!

I expected a bit of greif for posting this TBH, it was the style of the advert that got my attention.

Standard 'had an accident, trip or fall anywhere' / 'no win, no fee' companies do much much more damage to society than illegal immigrants could ever do !

Anyway - things often look weird at 2am ! If i end up doing a 2am rant ( not suggesting the op is a rant btw ) i make sure i save it and read it the next day, rather than post it. It invariably looks and sounds terrible and gets deleted.

what about the fact that irrespective of the fact they are here illegally they get to use the NHS and other public services? What about the fact that they get a house to live in for free? what about the fact that they generally work on the black market - taking other jobs that people in this country dont have? what about the fact that they can then go on to have a kid with someone and get to stay in the country for free taking all the time but giving nothing back?

I hope a whoosh smiley is coming my way after that moronic post !

If not, I think you have mistaken 'facts' for something more generic, but then again you are a solicitor so facts may not be your strong point.

Anyway - its obviously too difficult for you to put down the Mail and google the truth, so ill do it for you:

Who has to pay for NHS treatment in the UK? - oh look. Your 1st statement is total ste. The rest of it sounds like the badly thoughtout ramblings of a pub drunk....

You don't really believe that visitors to the country can not and do not get free treatment in our hospitals and doctors surgeries do you?

Established immigrants with jobs might contribute, but an illegal immigrant or 'medical tourist' certainly won't.

Why is the subject of this DVD a surprise?

There is a whole multi million pound industry that has developed around helping people to get into the UK and to navigate their way around the immigration and benefit system. Just Google the subject or have a look at the ads in the local papers of areas with high immigrant populations.

Much of the industry is legitimate, much of it operates on the fringes of the law and much is just plain illegal. How do you think would be immigrants manage to tie the immigration department up in knots and know how, where and why to apply for the most lucrative benefits?
