Twenty-one people have been injured, two seriously, as a train derailed in a crash with a lorry on a level crossing in Suffolk.

The two-carriage diesel passenger train was in collision with the sewage tanker in Little Cornard, Sudbury, at about 1735 BST. The lorry was split open in the collision, spilling slurry over the scene.

When I heard a train had hit a wagon full of sh*t in Suffolk, I assumed they meant the Ipswich Town team coach.

It was an unmanned crossing, the vehicle driver uses a fixed telephone to ask the signallers for permission to cross.

At the moment there is no phone record of the driver ever calling.

I wonder how fast they were going? They should be able to tell from the skid marks.

Lorry driver has been arrested, presumably police were tipped off by a stoole pigeon.
