Pakistan Bans Websites
Discussion
Besides China and now Pakistan (one for political, one for religious), who else is actively banning web access?

Saudi Arabia, Burma, North Korea, Cuba, Egypt, Iran, Uzbekistan, Syria, Tunisia, Turkmenistan, and Vietnam, while a bunch of others are “under surveillance”.

I'll never understand why some people have to control others, it's simply beyond me, actually, it's even more of a mystery why these cretins allow themselves to be subjugated in this way
I assume you were front and centre protesting the digital economy bill then?The real Apache said:

Oh please, are you feeling particularly oppressed then? your access to porn or anything non christian being blocked is it? I've worked in Saudi and there is a colossal difference between state oppression and restrictive regimes and a copyright bill
The difference is in degree, not principle.fluffnik said:

* (a) an act which threatens a person’s life,
* (b) an act which results, or is likely to result, in serious injury to a person’s anus, breasts or genitals,
* (c) an act which involves or appears to involve sexual interference with a human corpse,
* (d) a person performing or appearing to perform an act of intercourse or oral sex with an animal (whether dead or alive),
so nothing youd really want to look at anyway tbh. Some of those BDSM folk seemed a bit upset about it all at the time though. The ban came about because some guy killed his girlfriend and had a bunch of bdsm websites in his web history, the dead girls mum came over all mary whitehopuse and campaigned for a ban.* (b) an act which results, or is likely to result, in serious injury to a person’s anus, breasts or genitals,
