So. One million pounds. No great shakes is it, you got to speculate to accumulate. I think I'd rather the people in the know with the knowledge come up with the ideas rather than mandarins or politicians in Whitehall.

It states in the article that they have also used email. I assume that letters were only sent to employees who don't have work email addresses (ie bin men at a guess).

I think someone should be paid to go round each organisation and look at what money is spent on. I bet you could shave pounds off without really putting much effort into it... "You spent how much per hour on that consultant???" No need to ration toilet paper or that kind of thing. "You bought new PCs for everyone after just two years???" A cursory glance should be enough. "He's paid how much to do what???" I'm not being flippant, either. "They overstepped their tender figure and charged how much extra???"

Because Human Factors research shows that if you don't engage with the persons you are about impose radical change on, you haven't got a cat it hells chance of implementing the change effectively.

The unions really are incredible. Consult their members or not, they'll still throw a hissy fit.

Come on ConDem, put them right in their bloody place!

They're a total joke and deserve to destroyed. But actually the ConDems might have been quite clever here, cutting out the unions altogether. That seems to be what Mr Kenny is really bhing about!

Could letters (if sent) be sent to work addresses, thus using the internal mail systems and not needing stamps?

Funny things the public. Don't spend a million quid consulting six million of them and they bh 'I wasn't consulted!'. Do spend a million quid consulting six million people and you're wasting money and out of ideas already. . . . . . .
