I saw the EDF Energy ad tonight sponsoring 'Green Day' it quoted the reason for it as being based on the IPCC report 2007 that said "there is 90% confidence that human activity is responsible for Global Warming"
I want to challenge this and get the ASA to pull it.
The report it is based on is 3 years old, much has changed since then
90% confidence of who, where is the proof?
What is actually meant by 'Global Warming'?
anyone want to offer support, links etc?

That ad should be pulled because it's a blatant rip-off of Ecotricity's campaign, but without any "green" substance to back it up. I don't need a huge energy company to patronise me about doing my bit when they can't be arsed to do theirs.

It should be pulled for it's patronising pretence at being British, it's faux patriotism and for continually saying 'we' when we all know EDF is Électricité de France and for showing a Union Flag made of green rags. Another thing we have to thank Moron Brown for - selling off the governments energy golden shares and allowing the French to own our utilities for next to nothing and charge us any price they like.
Report 'em. I reported Renault a few months back as they spouted bollux about making zero emission cars from next year. Their reply was that if the car was charged using renewable power sources then it was zero emissions. ASA told them it wasn't guaranteed that it was renewable, besides they still had to make the car in the first place. It was upheld, and the advert pulled.

I believe Browns bother sits (or at least sat) on the board at EDF. Can;t imagine how they were able to do the deals they did. Tangled web and all that...
Don't be so cynical. He is director of communications.
