Ok, obviously they didn't.

But thinking about this Korean thing, and trying to translate it into our region, came up with this interesting thought experiment.

Imagine France torpedo one of our capital ships, but this isn't clear at first. A month later, it becomes apparent that it was them, but they deny it.

What likely happens?

Imagine the RN sinking almost the entire French fleet that was moored in harbour, whilst we were on the same side, fighting a common foe!

Nah, it would never happen........ hehe

^^ lol, they had their chance. and not long after they sunk themselves all on their own wink

re. Koreas, you can't equate it to here

Perhaps if we and France and fought a bitter war 50 years ago from which we'd settled into an uneasy truce, but technically still at war..

The Irish Navy?!?!?!

I've heard of the Irish Rover, is that a Destroyer class ship?

They weren't exactly winning though and the ships could have been back out with another flag flying very soon.

I totally agree and the right course of action. How the French navy could even consider not joining forces after their country had been occupied still beggars belief.

The treaty the Germans signed with Vichy France meant they had to send the fleet to harbour and disarm it.

Mind you the navy could still have said bugger off and sailed to England. We also told the French navy what we were going to do and they still sat on their ships and then moaned at us that we killed a few of them, what did they think we were going to do, let the only other viable fleet in the Med free to be handed over to Germany which badly needed them.

Still I think this kind of thing will happen when Scotland breaks away and we sink their rubber dinghies hehe

Thought the Royal Navy still regarded the French as our main enemy, just ahead of the Ministry of Defence and the Chief of Air Staff.

Maybe I need to be upgraded... then again maybe I don't.
