When push comes to shove who can stop them? The example of Argentina shows that a default isn't the end of the world and they have got will beyond the point where there is any realistic chance on Greece taxpayers being able to pay the debts. So it's either a default or other European taxpayer reach for their wallets.Out of interest what's the national religion of Greece (Greek orthodox?)?
Solutions for Greece are :
o Spending cuts - thats a no-no because of the civil disobedience that would result
o Print money and inflate their way out of the problem - worked a charm for the uk during the post-war period, but EURO membership means no freedom for the bubbles to do this
o Default aka as "restructure" just like the Argies
I reckon the Euro will be split to give us a weak Euro for the garlic countries and a strong Euro for their more prudent northern neighbours.

Argentina gavie its creditors a last chance to recoup some of their losses. They could swap their old Argentine paper for new Argentine paper and recover about 30 centers on the dollar. Take it or leave it says the government.
How long before the Greeks offer a similar deal?
But the Argies didn't have the Germans to cover all their liabilities. How long before the Greeks offer a similar deal?
Greece has to be cut loose if only to scare the others into stepping into line.
The Greeks won't change and none of the others are rushing to resolve their problems. I can really see them drawing down all the rescue package and nothing having changed.
