So what is going to be up for the chop, what is going to rise, who is going to feel the PAIN?

We're all going to feel the pain in someway shape or form.

The hope is being a member of the working society instead of the sitting on arse thieving oxygen society, we'll feel the pain less.

Yeah, but what will hit in the first budget, will go for throat straight away or ramp it up over 2 or three?

I think he has to hit it hard in one go, literally kill the beast rather than wounding it.

Immediate cap on pensions is my guess and then cuts on larger ones progressing down the scale in subsequent budgets.

The civil service and public sector will get savaged. I wouldn't be surprised if he knocks their pension on the head too.
Hence my comment here from another thread...

'It's going to be an interesting summer/autumn when CMD starts to swing the axe.'

Riots by the ne'er-do-wells and public service employees facing the chop, joined by sundry groups of pseudo-marxists, disaffected dossers and any kind of rentamob you care to name.

There have been riots in Ireland today due to the axe swinging around their nether regions!

Could it happen here?

Yep VAT up
A delay before personal allowance increased to 10k
wage freeze for enhanced dole (public service)
State pensions linked to life expectancy
final salary pensions scrapped and changed to defined contribution
Pointless public sector roles eliminated
politician pay reduced and MP's reduced

Look to more cuts and less taxes.

But I do expect sin taxes to increase, which is also good.

Sin tax? FFS, thats halfway to the existing fkup of banning everything because the Daily Mail doesnt like it.

SIN tax... we are all sinners, I drive, that's a sin to some, I smoke, another 'sin', I don't drink but I'm damned if I would consider that people should be taxed for a PLEASURE!

One mans 'sin' is another mans pleasure or relaxation.

That would be so unfair, two weeks into this thing and it gets taxed. Evil.
