I have realised I have wasted my vote at this year's election. We have local welections too and they sent both my postal votes in one envelope. Only when my wife mentioned who she had voted for did I realise I hadn't seen my postal vote for the general election. Sure enough, there it was in the recycling bin. But the envelopes and the other voting paper have been posted,

I shouldn't worry too much as I am sure my one vote won't make a blind bit of difference as 2 (2 of the big 3) of the 5 candidates are giving addresses as "address hundreds of miles away" so it doesn't sound like they feel they have much of a chance.

I wonder if they is any way I can resurrect my vote?

I know that when mine came through it said something on it like "if you spoil your ballot paper, you can request a new one up to 5pm the day before election day". I think. Might be worth having a look-see.

My one had some business on it with a date a week ago IIRC. Maybe I'm wrong. Worth checking...

You can take your postal vote to your polling station and use it there apparently.

Spoke with the electorla office. As long as I 'double envelope' the ballot paper and pop a not in the outer envelope and send it to them direct it will count.
