I'd say she'd be off the radar for most PHers.

I am sure you are correct. However, she began her career in a British production, maybe some know of her. I also like to give credit to real pros from the old days over the tripe that passes for actors today.

Indeed. her and the Grace Kelly's, Scarlett O'Hara's etc.

Current fashion is the Uma Thurmans, Angelina Jolie etc.

But since this PH, The old style cars (BMW 3.0 Coupes, DKW's, 912 Porsche, Beetles) to the new style health and safety not so elegant versions (BMW M6, Audi A6,Porsches still doing Ok, Golf)

Scarlett O'Hara is a character (from "Gone With the Wind")- not an actress. Did you mean Vivien Leigh. Gorgeous but barking.

I think he meant Maureen O'Hara, still with us and still gorgeous.

Maureen O'Hara's husband for years was pilot Charles Blair. He ran a fleet of Sunderland/Sandrinham flying boats down in the US Virgin Islands. Unfortunately, he was klilled in 1978 when one of his smaller flying boats crashed.

Yes I did mean that gorgeous chic, thanks. smile Hope you agree with the sentiment about the different generations and taste.

I read recently the long list of actos from the "old days" that voluntarily went to war and other harsh duty while giving up lucrative "outs" to serve in other ways. Reading that list, one cannot help but compare today's crop of crying brats unfavorably.

Revently, there was an excellent write up on Jimmy Stewart's WW2 service in one of the UK model magazines. Stewart really was a hero - in all senses of the word.
