How many more places will shut up shop and move their business to Europe because it is cheaper?!

An example of the continuing deindustrialisation of the UK.
Never mind, I'm sure the Public Sector will be able to move in and rectify this situation.
One day the majority might realise from where the ability to fund all Public Sector activities is derived.
Or not?
Remember, I'm a bit of the Left too.
Yet not stupid.

I approve of our Governor's approach here in our relatively small state. He points out that in times like this two things can be done; either raise taxes or do what private families have to do and tighten our belts. He has cut much of our state government but has kept services nearly the same: "Do more with less or be replaced by those talented enough to do so", as he puts it. He has cut taxes and last year we have had some major companies move here as well as added 35,000 jobs. It is tough, but the approach seems to be working. Simplistic in a way, yet effective.Never mind, I'm sure the Public Sector will be able to move in and rectify this situation.

Cutting Government, either National(Fed) or Local(State), is not on the agenda here, from those currently in power, nor,I suspect, from those who expect to be in power after our next General Election.Edited by Jimbeaux on Friday 15th January 21:44
The problem is that those now in Politics, in the main, have little experience of having to work to make a profit.
Not understanding the hours and graft needed to establish an ongoing sucessful business.
Perhaps why we are losing out to the East?
Nah, it's ok, the East will continue to fund our debt?
