Racial Double Standard for Democrats
Discussion
This is so typical. This has been going on here for about a week. The lead Democrat was found out to say, prior to the '08 election, that Obama will do well because he is "a light skinned African American that has no Negro dialect unless he wants one". Not only does he get a pass but he is being supported by "black leaders". Had this been a Republican, the torches and pitchforks would be in the streets. However, since these same "black leaders" are kept in power and funded by the Dems, they care not. This should show the average black citizen that their leaders don't give a cr@p about them, only themselves:

Since they know perfectly well that the other lot don't care about them I can't see that makes any difference even if it's true, which IMO it's probably not. At least they have someone in power who's skin colour they can more or less recognise when they look in the mirror.Ozzie Osmond said:

What is wrong with what he said? It seems right to be. Do you think white middle class Americans would have elected a full-on black man like Jesse Jackson?
Absolutely nothing in reality. The point is that if a non-Democrat said it, he would be gone that day, full stop. Jimbeaux said:

December 5, 2002, Republican Senate Leader Trent Lott, while at a dinner honoring retiring senator Strom Thurmon, said "When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn't have had all these problems over the years, either."
Strom had run for President in 1948 (and lost) on the "Dixiecrat" ticket and based a lot of his campaign on "States Rights" or a segregationist platform.
Due to the hue and cry of the race baiters, 15 days after he made that statement, Trent Lott was forced to resign despite the fact that none of his words even mentioned race.
---
Fast forward
---
Democratic Senate Leader Harry Reid remarks that "Obama could win the Presidency because the country was ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama -- who he referred to as being "light-skinned" and "with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one"
---
You would think that through extrapolation (as they did with Trent Lott's comments), the MSM would see that Reid was stating that if Obama wasn't "light skinned" or said "homie" a lot, no way in hell could he win. They didn't do that.
Important historical perspective - The 1964 Civil Rights Act was actually filibustered by DEMOCRATS. If it were not for Republican support, it wouldn't have passed. Indeed, even as he signed it, Democratic president Lyndon Johnson states "We have lost the South for a generation..."
---
There is a double standard. If the Democrats and MSM were true to their standards, Harry would be back in Nevada playing blackjack (and probably losing). Somehow, the Republican party has been saddled with an unfair description of being racists. They are not. What they are (for the most part) are individualists that don't believe in lumping people together in "groups". That perspective is easily corrupted by those that DO like to refer to people based on group affiliation to insure their own power base. If you really want to see some bigoted, race baiting remarks, look up Al Sharpton in Wikipedia. It will boggle your mind that this gentleman still is in elected office.
All IMHO. I will stop now as US politics can seem silly at the best of times.
