Yes because being forced to pay a TV tax is wrong. Even if one is not interested in anything the BBC does, one is forced to pay the TV tax. Thats wrong IMO.

There is that, but there is also the fact that now only a reduced percentage of the TV License actually goes to making telly programs, most of which are of a high standard, politics removed.

Bit like road tax.

Can i chose not to pay the % of the price of anything which has been advertised on tv which goes to its marketing? Besides which we'd better get rid of the bit that goes to C4 as well.
Besides....Top Gear?

I voted 'Yes', as in 'Yes, I'd choose NOT to'

I hardly watch it, especially with Sky being so bloody awesome. And I'm sick of the propaganda and lies being FORCED upon me by them.

If they are not going to remain impartial, and present a balanced view, then I do not want to give them any money!

Soleley to play devil's advocate a moment. Sky can hardly be considered to be impartial and balanced, and yet you volunteer to pay them presumably.

With Sky, I get all the channels;

Sports, Movies, Documentaries, Music, etc......the whole package. Not just one channel.

And at least with sky, if I suddenly have a change of heart...I can stop paying them and get rid of it. Don't get that option with the Beeb.

My interest in the Beeb left when they sold the rights to 'Neighbours' to Five smile

Dont really care what you want to do. I have made my feeling clear. I dont like the compulsory BBC TV tax....simple.

The BBC is far more than the News - entertainment programs and documentaries, loads of radio stations, web content, iPlayer, etc. It's easy to avoid the impartial news programs if you wish.

My point was more thats just a hidden tax for the other channels as well.

Though since I've postedthe options have changed...it was just yes or no at first which is quite different to what it says now.

Change the unique way it's funded.
Slim it down.
Make it truly impartial.

Then, maybe.

That's not the point though is it. The whole Raison d'être for the BBC is to offer a truly impartial, free from bias or politics service to the fee paying public, overseen by the Trust. This, patently, is not true and not only that, you will be sent to prison for not paying it, yet pour some bleach over a womans head and you walk free.
