BBC News, global warming tosh.
Discussion
Had BBC News on just now, discussing 'frozen Britain' & covering the usual gas shortage, people sledging etc and then...
A 5min slot saying this is a blip & the world really is warming up.... I mean what utter f
ktards! Was that necessary? It wasn't even a news feature discussing if this was global warming, it wa slipped into the 'frozen britain' feature & wasn't debated we were TOLD, almost like we were naughty school children, what to believe! It was pure unadulterated propoganda.
How many people will just absorb that in without thinking about it & debating it! God I hate BBC News these days.

Sounds a bit like the other night on Sky News when two commentators were reveiwing the papers, and they both poured scorn on the Daily Express headline, "Snow Chaos! And they say it's still global warming", saying that one cold snap doesn't disprove global warming.
No, the coldest winter for 30 years doesn't disprove global warming but it certainly doesn't count as evidence for it.

Is the world warming up generally though or is that propaganda? Totally different argument to 'is man making it warm up'. I think it's widely accepted that over the past 20 years or so the world has generally got warmer and so I don't see why mentioning that this freezing cold weather is just a blip has got you so annoyed?A 5min slot saying this is a blip & the world really is warming up.... They had a clip about coastal erosion in Australia a while back and were trying to link it to sea level rises. It was clearly just an excuse to send a reporter to Australia and have a jolly.
Why they weren't visiting UK coastal erosion spots and commenting on them escapes me.
Given the choice between Australia, or just up the coast from Great Yarmouth, I think I'd be fishing out my passport as well. Why they weren't visiting UK coastal erosion spots and commenting on them escapes me.

I thought they had been doing pretty well this week in staying away from inferring the current conditions are climate change/global warming related - until tonight! I was incensed, mainly because at every report this week I have been expecting it and even though it took a couple of days they caved in eventually.
I have just fired off the following complaint to them via the website and I suggest anyone else who saw it does the same.
Your reports on the extreme weather conditions this week have been mostly impartial and factual until this evening. All three of the people used in the report tried to infer the current conditions are related to global warming or climate change. This is not factual and unbiased reporting. We are having a cold spell, we have had them before (remember 1963 ?) and we will have them again. There is no science that proves what these people were implying and the very least you can do is interview someone like Viscount Monckton at the same time to deliver the contrary view. If you can't represent all relevant viewpoints in these reports then I would politely suggest you stick to the facts.

What drives me nuts is that they want it both ways. They reported tonight that this was just weather and climate happens over a longer period. Nothing wrong with that, but we have a week of hot weather in the summer and the beeb are reporting that it is due to GW.
This alone proves they have an agenda.
They f
king cannot have it both ways the

But by far the biggest problem with the BBC (apart from the unique way it is funded, and the fact that it is institutionally biased and run by sub-marxists) is the fact that its weather service is provided by the Met. Orifice. It's the Met Orifice's raison d'etre to lubricate government policy ready for anal insertion; the Met. Orifice has an agenda - it is not concerned primarily with weather but with foisting pseudo-scientific claptrap on us all. Like the BBC, like the Govt, like all the hard of thinking enviro-journalists, they need MMGW to continue; so the Met. orifice will continue to lie, cheat and pump out deliberately inaccurate long range forecasts if the govt. tells it to.

I thought that the PH view was that the world may well be getting warmer, but it's 'nothing to do with us, guv'
It may have but the extent of it has been overblown by the pro-MMGW crowd and proven to have been so. The Mann hockeystick which has driven so much policy has be proven in many ways to be complete tosh for example. Where's the coverage of a Russian scientist's prediction of a cooling trend from 2012 onwards?

No, its widely accepted by those who don't believe the BBC/Guardian that in the last 10 years the average temperature has dropped by the same amount as it rose in the previous century.Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
