We already have that in Number10.gov
As far as I can tell the format is.
1. Someone presents a good idea in the form of a petition.
2. I sign the petition and wait.
3. Some civil servant sends me an email which explains, in a patronizing tone, that they're disregarding my opinions along with millions of voters; treating us with utter contempt and doing whatever they'd planned to do originally.
Apart from it being on-line, this must be as close to representing how they value my opinions and vote IRL as it's possible to get.

The plan - to be introduced if the Conservatives win the next general election - appears to be based on the so-called "wisdom of crowds" theory written about by author James Surowiecki.
He argued that large groups of people are smarter than the elite few at coming to wise decisions.
I like the sound of it. If policy was based on the voting results of the general public on said new website, not only could we get rid of scamera partnerships, but most importantly we could force a complete abandonment of the current insane political obsession with harmless Carbon Dioxide aka Man Made-up Global Warming. That's just for starters. He argued that large groups of people are smarter than the elite few at coming to wise decisions.

it would just be an extension of the current petition website
Something gets almost 2million signatures and the result is a junior writer writes a letter saying "sorry you are wrong"
That was my first thought. Something gets almost 2million signatures and the result is a junior writer writes a letter saying "sorry you are wrong"
But effectively if they have the brains to actually act on those well signed "petitions" then they would be "popular". It's a good way for them to basically keep the populace relatively happy and to do as the public want.
I think that the concept of this is quite a good idea.
If this was taken on by the Goverment using there own people to develop you can imagine it costing millions, possibly billions judging by the mess they've made of the NHS IT system.
How many times have the current idiots taken anything on and its come in on budget?
Millenium dome anyone...
NHS IT System...
The cost of the olympics....

Dear chap, what you must realise is that when projects are funded by tax payers money, that it isn't 'real money. If this was taken on by the Goverment using there own people to develop you can imagine it costing millions, possibly billions judging by the mess they've made of the NHS IT system.

I understand what your saying in the instance of its tax payers (our) money - inevitably funded by us in the longterm.
The point im trying to make here is that the usual goverment funded projects they take on always seem to go massivly over budget due to the gvment being there usual irrisponsable selves and not giving a flying f
k as they're not picking up the tab - It's us.With more schemes such as this it saves us the tax payer more in the longrun and shows the goverment is responsable at running the buisness there paid to and supposed to do well, and hopefully not have to raise tax's left right and centre to keep covering there f
k ups.Having said that most PM's after being elected seem to do as they please, after all it was us that put them there and so clearly believe that the decisions they make - mostly bad we're happy to go along with.
As for the current useless
he wasn't even elected.
