Looks like more security chaos for those of us that have to fly on a regular basis:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/8430612.stm

What new measures are going to be put in place 'for our own safety' after this little event?

One eyewitness said she could smell burning flesh from the Nigerian's leg. GOOD.
They put him out with an extinguisher.

A fluid and powder bomb picked-up in Yemen. Same old Countries (Yemen,Iran,Somalia), same old problems.

Get booking that ferry soonest, no point flying any more, the que will last even longer.

"President Barack Obama has ordered increased security for air travel"

Great.

After the time of the 'shoe bomb' we'd to take our shoes off going through security.

Now, we'll have to roll our trousers up.

The day they catch someone smuggling explosives up their ass is the day i stop travelling

Google "Abdullah Hassan Al Aseery" nicknamed the 'ass asin'

at the tome it was notice there was a crator underneath him. All the force went down! it was noted that this would be perfect for terrorists.

Congratulations (again) to the UK government for allowing this tt into the country (even though they knew he was high risk) and providing him with extended education facilities. Now we have chaos on all airlines flying to and from the US as of today since ALL handbaggage wil be subjec to extra screening before boarding ANY aircraft.

"The New York Republican named the detainee as Abdul Mudallad, 23, a Nigerian national whose name, he said, was in a database indicating "a significant terrorist connection" although it did not appear on a "no-fly" list."

Well, that database is useful, then. rolleyes

Here's how to tackle the situation.
1) Let terrorists fly on plane.
2) Fill rest of seats with human rights lawyers.

Then we can begin by stopping anyone on this database from leaving their house.

Turns out this bod had been going to Uni / College in London, I'll put the customary half a dozen Jaffa cakes on him being radicalised here, by one of our "guests" that the HRA wouldn’t let us throw out even if our current government had the balls to do so

All thanks to Labour's open door policy ranting

We have changed the rules on entry for South Africans in to the UK because they were giving ZA passports to muslim terrorists, I can only see the same thing happening to us from the Americans...

Kind of agree to be honest.

On a more serious note, I'd definitely be in favour of some really draconian rules when it comes to flight safety. As a very broad example, I'd implement a very thorough body search of anyone of (for example) pakistani origin........

Racist? Yes by definition. However, I frankly couldn't give a stuff when the majority of people attempting acts of this kind will invariably hail from certain parts of the World. At the end of the day, human rights doesn't rank above the safetly of innocent citizens neither does racism.
