A rather surprising poll in tomorrow's Observer:

Con 43% (+6)
Lab 26% (-5)
Lib 20% (+2)

My guess is the PBR cop-out with £20k tax threshold and Brown promising to make us poor so Mugabe can afford more RPGs are causes.

What's considered the 'average wage' now, for the UK, as £20K seems quite low for Labour to claim they're 'punishing the rich'!

It isn't over, by a long chalk.

Passports to be made, crowns for convoy to be paid, and so forth.

But, like Henry, I think we sense the approaching evening before the definitive battle.

This will give Winky a bit of a headache when he gets back from saving the planet.

Good to see what the public think of him wasting our money

The coppenhagen conference has been great for Winky.

The non-greenies hate him for trying and the greenies hate him for failing. Win-Win situation.

Of course it does mean (as has been obvious for so long . . well, since the gurning fool took over) that slimy, insincere eco-taxer Cameron will slide in with what he'll see as a massive remit for even his sillier plans.

When Cameron became leader (as a virtual unknown) I couldn't see him becoming th enext Conservative PM but then Brown!

How to give Cameron kudos? Put the nutter against him - he must be the conservatives' favourite person, they couldn't have wished for a better opponent.

Oh for the days of Alan Clark and pals!

What Cameron says to be elected, is highly unlikely to be what he does once he is. If it were otherwise it would be as momentous as if the world stopped spinning on its axis.

This is without Cameron having to really do or say much as well. It's more a result of scorn and contempt for Labour and Brown than any great love for Cameron, essentially the "Anyone but Brown" effect.

The interesting thing will be when he does have to do and say things, whether the lead will widen or shrink.

Strange, the latest poll result is one of the top news stories on the Sky News website but the BBC one doesn't seem to be reporting it at all. How odd.

You have to think though, does Cameron really want to get elected?

Who in their right mind would want to Govern this country at the moment?

There's only one man, he's already in charge, and he's definitely NOT in his right mind!

Of course he does. The power mad want to be top dog whatever it feels like once there. It's a disease, the "I know bestitis"syndrome. They just can't escape from the itch once they start to scratch.

How else could they bear to think of themselves up there strutting around like demented wassocks, twisting and turning from one 'truth' to the next, demeaning themselves whenever needed to curry a bit of favour while the rest of us sneer and grimace?

Self satisfied, arrogant ponces all . . red, blue, green or st brown.

A patriot?

Something has to be done and it won't be by the party of the public sector unions.
