Nothing more than a commie propoganda machine!

Minus Top Gear of course , only 2 programmes worth watching on the BEEB. Top Gear and Horizon.

i'm waiting for the bloke from the bbc to come on and say the state tv is a paragon of programming and in other countries where the people go outside and have lifes the tv is crap....

just imagine how many quangos and useless people we could employ with the sale proceeds from government tellie....just look at how they spent the billions from the mobile phone network licensing...sustainable jobs for the next 10 days that is my promise to you...

The MMGW view isn't just hocked by the Beeb, but by every station in the UK.

Personally, I love the Beeb, and find they have oodles of great shows to watch. Newssite is good for most things, but like anyone on the net knows, you have to scout around for decent coverage of all the news.

I can see why the BBC push the government line on AGW but I am at a loss to know why Murdoch´s mob do it. Perhaps Rupert has a couple of billion in carbon futures.

And another here. Every month a thread like this comes up. It seems to say more about the poster that they think the only BBC news is that on at six o clock which gets diluted down for all the fickies.

Other public service news programmes are available

Just spent all afternoon catching up on my favourite Radio 4 shows on the iPlayer ( and I don't mean The Archers).

Class - all of it.

Indeed, Any Questions was particularity stimulating today. In a funny sort of antagonising way.

Actually not.

I was in a reception and they had Sky News on in the background. So as I waited I listened.

They basically said it was all bks.

I don't watch BBC news anymore or the One Show..BUT they do make some quality stuff. Also i'm a big fan of Radio 4...today i was laughing like a drain whilst listening to the Now Show...i can't stand Brigstockes politics...BUT it is one of the funniest sattirical shows out there, very witty.

I LOVE (The Telegraph's) James Delingpole's new term for these people:

As the saying goes (think traffic lights)..."the Greens are too Yellow to admit they're Red".

It's due to the unique way they are funded. They don't have to earn funding, they are given large sums of money from the gubberment (our money). If the broadcast the truth or a lot of anti-government programmes their funding could be cut, therefore they are effectively blackmailed by the gubberment to not show them in too bad a light over most things.

There's probably some truth in that; the Brown Broadcasting Company would be terrified of losing their compulsory fee income, if people had the choice, their income would plummet. Now wouldn't that be sweet. smile

Same here. Brigstocke can be an overbearing prig - but his Dr Seuss take on the Copenhagen Conference was rather good.

Approach all media with scepticism.
Measure what you are told against your experiences and your independent research.
Old sayings often contain more than a grain of truth.

Yeah cause ITV has such stunning quality programming

NOT

Ignore the mainstream BBC and look at the small stuff and its quality is outstanding
