Cheers
Could be that, or could be the complete opposite ie someone so disgusted by what happened there that they do not believe a sign built by prisoners should be a tourist attraction or believe the place should be destroyed.

My ex-girlfriend was German and she told me about the day when her brother came back from school feeling disgusted with himself after been told about the Nazi attrocities during the war, he was so sickened that he took his grandfathers war memorabilia and cut out the swastika in the ceremonial sword and burnt diaries etc that his grandfather had kept.

Yeah, the theft of a sign is much worse than murdering millions of jews.
