So. Winky upped the UK contribution by 300m to £1.5bn to a EU fund for giving to third-world countries to combat "climate cack".

We are so far up st creek fiscally I guess 1,500,000,000 pounds just doesn't matter.

Here's the deal. If we are concerned about tropical deforestation etc why don't we BUY LAND with forest on. Then it's ours. We can fence it off, build some barracks and let our lads do jungle training in it whilst they shoot the odd poacher and trespasser.

At least WE'd have got something for our money that we'd control. Instead it's just being given away.

If we owned it I'd expect the right to roam over it, too (except on days when the lads were carrying out live firing exercises).

Feck. Feck and Feck again. I want this evil lot of incompetent baboons out of power a.s.a.p.

Quite so, such a large sum could actually do something useful. The incompetence is truly staggering.

It just gets better and better from old No Brains Brown.

I don't recall hearing a peep about this "commitment" in yesterday's PBR.....which means 1 of 2 things.

1. Brown didn't know yesterday that he was about to make this pledge. Which frankly questions the sanity of the man; one doesn't decide to give away 1.5B on a whim. What about Parliament? Aren't we supposed to discuss these things in the chamber?

2. Brown was fully aware of his impending largesse; yet chose not to tell us as he's a liar.

Either way, us subjects pay!

It used to be 'I blame Tony Blair', I suppose bankers are the new generic blame for everything.

only 1.5bn that's peanuts I see absolutely no reason why a prosperous country shouldn't pledge that much, but why the fk we did is a different matter, or is it a bit more of the scorched earth policy?

Pledge it to what? Something useful maybe but just to line the pockets of corrupt politicians in 'developing countries' in order to boost Brown's ego? No thanks.

The man is a fking moron. The worst thing to happen to this country in living memory.

Best post I've read on Pistonheads for a while. It would be nice to have something to show for our money for a change. China is buying up a lot of land in Africa instead we are just pissing it all away.

Simplistically speaking, we have to borrow the money to give away, that we have to pay more in taxes for? Somebody please tell me that this is not what's going on.

I've decided, maybe a life of crime for me, the same as them. I always believed their mantra of crime doesn't pay.

True, but the sheer scale of the cretinous onanistic feckwittery demonstrated by Winky & The Winkettes means that we could have every thread on the site dedicated to the castigation of this cluster of warts on humanity's rectum, and it still wouldn't provide enough invective to do the situation justice.
