What the f
k? The guy has been in office less than a year and so far has just proven he's very good at PR, talking a good job and being of mixed race.
This seems almost as bad as that giving t
t Gore the prize a couple of years ago.
What a load of politicised nonsence.

According to Alfred Nobel's will, the winner of the prize should be someone who "during the preceding year [...] shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses"
Hmm
Previous laureates include; Martin Luther King, Mother Theresa, Lech Walesa, Desmond Tutu, the 14th Dalai Lama, Mikhail Gorbachev, Nelson Mandela....Al Gore and Barack Obama?

The moment Al Gore won it, the Nobel peace prize lost all credibility.
+1I think I'm right in saying Obama hasn't completed even a year
in office, and has been in charge during a couple of
foreign wars, so getting a Peace Prize is *somewhat*
surprising to me.
What next - the UK's Mr Brown winning a prize for
Europe's most successful politician ?

When he was nominated he had been in office about two weeks, probably still looking for the White House bathroom at that time.in office, and has been in charge during a couple of

Bit of a farce, but if it encourages him to crack on then fair be it. He's humble enough to admit his exploits so far are 'slight' in comparison to past winners.
Anyhoo, I live in Oslo and work at the airport. His Airforce One exploits caused great fun today, he delayed around 40 flights over 30 minutes. The Norwegian folk are a patriotic bunch, and Obama declined an invitation to lunch with the King and to kip at the castle. This was seen as rude, to the point 44% of Oslo-ites don't want him here.

He can't win, this chap... He bows to a foreign Monarch, and he gets laid into. He leaves without seeing a monarch, and he gets laid into...Anyhoo, I live in Oslo and work at the airport.
