Perhaps he's achieved some kind of ironic cult status amongst the TED lot.

It's possibly like when Oxford and Cambridge universities continue to ask Jim Bowen back to be a guest speaker at their unions. They're really just taking the piss.

Normally they have the brightest of the brightest, the inspirational and the captivating.

Where the 'effing hell does Gordon fking Brown fit in.
