A good way to seek election?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/8363702....

ETA: Meant to say seeking Council election, not as MP... but can't edit damned title!

Rather silly - although many PHers hold this view point.

You could swap the word 'Queen' in there for 'politician' and the piece would still make sense.

The arrogance of Labour MPs knows no bounds, it seems. Shocking.

Whilst calling her vermin is silly, there's not an awful lot wrong with what he's saying, I see no point in celebrating her jubilee by way of public holiday, the majority of this country probably don't feel any patriotism toward her, and yes, if her house is to be maintained by public funds it should be open to the public, any other family avoiding inheritance tax has to do so.

Course, the counter argument to that is the French had the right idea.

Of course that has done nothing to prevent the pre-ordained sense of superiority held by most Englishmen when considering the French.

Loving the 'heartfelt' apology at the end!

Odious little prick. He should consider his, and his party's contributions to this nation before slating Queenie for hers.

Indeed, it makes me laugh how they all apologise for things, after they've been caught. If it's your view don't apologise for it FFS. It just makes you look like the spineless you are.

Total lack of appreciation for the way this country's democracy has developed.

Robert Cecil knew how to deal with such people.

I'm confused scratchchin Some people say that its the Queen milking the country for everything she can, while others say its the great unwashed, permanently unemployed scumbags who spend their dole money on Stella and L+Bs while watching Jeremy Kyle who are the true parasites.

WTF is going on?

Although the Chav underclass, don’t tend to bring in millions of foreign currency from tourists, they haven’t really been known to help much with exports and investment either wink

Given the millions we spend each year sending MP's on "fact finding" holidays, which don’t seem to produce much other than more receipts with which to claim expenses, HMtQ & co almost represents good value for money.............and you'd be surprised how "Johnny Foreigner" still seems to value the royal warrant on goods.

Having met many councillors, I think it's fair to say that if there were sub-vermin, councillors on the whole would be included

Stole the words from my mouth, if you're going to quote such emotive crap at least have the gonads to stand up for it afterwards. Typical shifty politician behaviour
