Sounds like a great opportunity to concentrate on the fact that they live in Doncaster, rather than they live in Doncaster, and happen to be gay etc, and focus on the stuff local councils should.Marf said:

I love this guy. The fact that he's getting up the noses of the local career politicos tells me he's doing his job. This is the guy who slashed his own salary by more than half, remember! No more subbing Gay Pride events (no problem with them - just no funding).
